In war-torn countries where undeveloped land is earmarked for industrial use and development, governments warn investors of landmine risks. This is where CCQ International specialist services come into play – performing the crucial tasks of demining and debushing these land acquisitions for further development.
Demining Quality Control is carried out before site clearance operations commence. As an additional safety precaution, CCQ carries out a second quality control exercise after debushing operations.
INTRODUCTION
Founded in 1999 by Bakir Lozane, a Mozambican demining professional, CCQ International LDA has a solid 17-year track record with both local and global experience in all mine sectors. Since the early 1990s when demining operations started in Mozambique, many international NGOs and private companies flocked to the country to meet the demand for the post war emergency demining services. This move saw the training of hundreds of Mozambicans as deminers, along with other related mine clearance services. Due to their intense and ceaseless involvement in the demining sector, these professional Mozambican deminers have emerged as world class experts with impeccable credentials. They have travelled the globe on a variety of demining missions. This has resulted in hundreds of highly skilled demining professionals with broad ranging national and international experience.

CCQ INTERNATIONAL LDA TAKES SHAPE AS INTERNATIONAL DEMINING OPERATIONS EXPERT
CCQ International LDA, a Mozambican company, capitalised on this experience and got involved in the execution of demining operations internationally. In Mozambique it operated as the only Independent External Quality Assurance Company for 12 consecutive years, before a second QA Company was licensed. The reduction in size of emergency services, known mine fields and – to some extent the emergence of local capacity – witnessed the exit of almost all international NGOs and commercial companies. In light of this – and coupled with the opportunity presented – CCQ revised its strategy to fill the gap by staffing itself with the key operations personnel from different companies and NGOs to perform commercial mine clearance services.
